The NPT winter 2019 newsletter is hot off the press
...and available in cool, easy-to-read PDF format HERE.

In this issue:

- Newburyport youth have preservation "on the radar." Read about NPT's new phone-friendly Instagram presence and see a selection of posted photos.

- Mark your calendar: Preservation Week 2019 is May 17-19. This year's theme is "Small Houses --- Big History."

- You're invited: The NPT Annual Meeting is Sunday, February 17, 4 p.m., at St. Anna's Chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 166 High Street. All NPT members are invited for a recap of 2018 accomplishments, a look ahead to this year's plans, and a social reception.

- NPT's Historic House Plaque Program gains momentum. See a photo montage of Newburyport homes sporting new NPT historic house plaques.

- Find a musket ball? Who do you call? Read about the student discovery of an 18th-century musket ball on the playground of River Valley Charter School --- and the subsequent research and determinations.

- Alterations to historic High Street approved. While traffic-calming and improved pedestrian safety are welcome, the planning process for this federal- and state-funded project was flawed.

- Words not necessary. A photo of the distinctive art deco sign of the former Fowle's newsstand and soda fountain that is now being allowed to flake away to nothing.

Happy reading ... and feel free to share your newsletter with interested folks and prospective NPT members.
